GoHighLevel x GREEN-API - connecting the integration#

Want to use WhatsApp to communicate with your customers directly from your GoHighLevel system? With GREEN-API, it's easy!

In this article, we'll show you how to set up the widget, allowing you to send and receive WhatsApp messages directly from your GHL account.

Step 1. Install the GREEN-API app in GHL#

  1. Go to the GoHighLevel website and log in to your account.

  2. Find our application by typing "GREEN-API" in the search bar. Or follow the GREEN-API link in the GoHighLevel marketplace

  3. Once you find the GREEN-API app, tap on it and then select Install. Confirm the installation by tapping Allow & Install to continue.

  4. Once the installation is complete, you will be redirected to a page with a message about the successful installation of the GREEN-API application.

Step 2. External authentication and connecting your WhatsApp account#

  1. On the successful installation confirmation page, click the Back button to return to the app settings.

  2. On this page, you need to perform external authentication to connect your WhatsApp account to GHL.

  3. You will need to enter the IdInstance and apiTokenInstance. This data can be found in GREEN-API console.

  4. Open a new browser tab and log in to your GREEN-API account. Find the IdInstance and apiTokenInstance in the corresponding fields.

  5. Copy the IdInstance and apiTokenInstance from your GREEN-API account and paste them into the corresponding fields on the external authentication page in GHL.

Step 3. Waiting for the settings to apply and getting started#

  1. After successfully entering your GREEN-API credentials, please wait for about 2 minutes until the new settings are applied and the integration is activated.

  2. Once the settings are applied, you will be able to send and receive WhatsApp messages directly from GHL.

Step 4. Sending WhatsApp messages from GHL#

  1. Select a contact or open an existing conversation in GHL.

  2. In the tab bar located at the bottom above the message input field, select the “GREEN-API” tab.

  3. Enter the message text in the input field.

  4. Click the send button.

  5. Use additional features. With the GREEN-API widget, you can send different types of messages, such as emoji, files (images, documents, etc.), and more. Read more in our documentation.
